Our client is a national law firm with a fantastic reputation for projects and infrastructure work. They have advised on some of the largest and most complex transactions in this area of work, but what sets them apart from other law firms is their wide-ranging client base of public sector clients, investors, developers and contractors as well as their flexibility to adapt to a changing market. This team is very much in growth mode and there is a great opportunity to play a key role in the future growth of the practice.
The work will involve dealing with variations, refinancing, expiry and hand-back of PFI/PPP contracts. The team also get involved in PFI/PPP secondary market transactions. You will be working closely with a partner specialising in this area of work as well as other key individuals in this team but also across other practice areas including energy, banking and finance, and construction.
There is lots of support internally for this team to diversify further in the future so any interest or experience in the following areas would be beneficial:
- Infrastructure M & A
- Off-shore transmission
- Renewables
- Net Zero
- Battery Storage
- EV
- District Heating

In particular, you should have experience of PFI/PPP contracts. Any experience of clean energy would be an advantage. You will need to have at least 5 PQE and possibly considerably more experience than this. The firm are open regarding level although would be particularly keen to hire at Managing Associate / Director level. There is the opportunity for partnership either from Day 1 (if you have a client following) but there is certainly quick progression available for those who are not operating at this level yet but are looking for this.
This role can be very flexible so if you are someone who likes being in an office, there is certainly the opportunity to do this. However, this role could be fully remote; there is no requirement to come into the office a certain number of days per week and virtually no requirement to travel to meet clients.
