Are you a UK qualified banking & finance lawyer who is looking to do something slightly different? Perhaps you’re fed up of the long hours and culture at larger firms and are wondering what else you could do. This isn’t a role that will suit everyone and might suit someone who considers themselves to be perhaps a bit more entreprenerial, but the culture, support and autonomy at this leading boutique firm might be worth the leap of faith.
Our client is a growing practice who have identified a gap in their current offering to clients. Much of their existing banking and finance work goes externally although some is picked up internally where other lawyers have the skills required to do this. They are now seeking an experienced banking & finance lawyer with at least 5 or 6 PQE and up to partner level who is ambitious and keen to develop and lead the banking and finance offering for the firm.
Whilst you wouldn’t necessarily need any client following, the firm are not currently on any clearing bank panels so you would need to have some contacts with challenger banks or mezzanine finance providers with a view to building up the existing work and perhaps developing panel work in the future from other clients. There is enough existing work to keep you busy and theirs is plenty of internal support to help you develop the offering.
This is a role where you will be paid a percentage of billings so you would need to be comfortable with this method of getting paid or at least open to a discussion about this.
