A leading national law firm with a strong reputation in construction is seeking an experienced Construction Partner to join its expanding Bristol office. This is a key strategic hire within a well‑established team known for its high‑quality non‑contentious work and broad client base.
The role focuses primarily on non‑contentious construction matters, acting for a diverse range of developers, funders, contractors, consultants, public bodies, social housing providers and commercial end‑users. You will have experience supporting real estate development and finance projects across sectors such as residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, education and major engineering. Strong technical expertise in drafting and negotiating construction documentation, including building contracts, consultancy appointments, development agreements, agreements for lease, collateral warranties and security documents, is essential, along with solid knowledge of JCT and NEC forms. Experience with FIDIC or large regeneration schemes would be advantageous.
While the work is predominantly non‑contentious, there is scope to support or oversee contentious matters, including adjudication, arbitration and TCC litigation. Familiarity with issues such as defects, professional negligence, interim applications and final account disputes would be beneficial.
