Are you an experienced Costs Solicitor or Costs Draftsperson looking to join a highly regarded national law firm where quality of work, collaboration and career development are genuinely valued?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of a market-leading legal team, supporting complex, high-value and often high-profile disputes across a broad range of practice areas. This is an excellent role for an experienced costs professional who enjoys working closely with lawyers, clients and external stakeholders while playing a key part in delivering exceptional client service.

The Opportunity

Working within a well-established litigation function, you will take ownership of a varied and interesting caseload, advising on all aspects of legal costs from the outset of matters through to recovery.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing costs matters across a broad range of contentious work.
  • Preparing and negotiating bills of costs and costs budgets.
  • Drafting Points of Dispute and Replies.
  • Advising fee earners on costs strategy, budgeting and recovery.
  • Preparing Statements of Costs (N260s) and supporting documentation.
  • Managing detailed assessment proceedings and costs negotiations.
  • Liaising with clients, counsel, costs experts and the courts.
  • Monitoring developments in costs law and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
  • Helping to develop best practice across the wider disputes team.

About You

We’re keen to hear from qualified Costs Solicitors, experienced Costs Lawyers and Costs Draftspersons who can demonstrate:

  • Significant experience handling legal costs matters within private practice or an equivalent environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and costs practice.
  • Experience preparing bills of costs, budgets and costs-related applications.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • A collaborative approach with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive mindset and genuine enthusiasm for delivering outstanding client service.
