About the Role
The firm is seeking to recruit a number of Planning Associates and Senior Associates to join their highly regarded and growing planning team. The team is expanding in response to increased client demand and is looking to recruit lawyers at various levels with experience across planning and compulsory purchase matters. This is a chance to work at the top end of the market on high-profile, complex projects across the UK.
You will join a collaborative and fully integrated team, advising on all aspects of the development lifecycle, from initial consenting strategy through to delivery. The work spans a broad range of sectors, including energy, infrastructure, transport and the built environment.
This role offers exposure to some of the most significant and high-profile projects in the UK, including:
- onshore and offshore wind
- large scale solar
- pumped storage hydro
- carbon capture
- nuclear
- interconnectors and pipelines
- water and flood defence
- new roads and rail
- data centres
- redevelopment and regeneration.
About You
You will have:
- Experience in planning law, ideally including areas such as development consenting, compulsory purchase, EIA/HRA, or judicial review
- Qualified solicitor status in England and Wales, or registration with the Law Society of Scotland as a lawyer, with at least three years’ post qualification experience
- Strong technical ability with a proactive and commercial approach
- The ability to manage a varied and often complex workload
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn
You might be working as part of a private practice team, or are perhaps in an in-house or public sector role. Our client is flexible, having successfully supported and integrated Planning Lawyers from various backgrounds and experiences into the team.
