We’re delighted to be partnering with a leading Top 100 law firm to recruit an Associate into its growing Insurance Disputes team in Exeter.

This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor looking to build their career within a specialist litigation practice, working alongside experienced lawyers on a varied and high-quality caseload while benefiting from excellent support, mentoring and long-term career progression.

The Opportunity

You’ll become part of an established team advising insurers, businesses and individuals on a broad range of insurance disputes and personal injury matters.

The work is varied and intellectually stimulating, covering coverage disputes, liability claims, subrogated recoveries, personal injury litigation and broader civil disputes. You’ll have the opportunity to manage your own matters while working closely with experienced colleagues on more complex cases.

Alongside your legal work, you’ll be encouraged to build strong client relationships, contribute to business development initiatives and continue developing your technical expertise within a collaborative and supportive environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing a varied caseload of insurance disputes and litigation matters.
• Advising clients on coverage, liability and personal injury issues.
• Representing clients through litigation, negotiation, mediation and alternative dispute resolution.
• Building trusted client relationships and delivering an exceptional standard of service.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider disputes team.
• Contributing to marketing initiatives and helping raise the team’s profile.
• Continuing to develop your technical knowledge and litigation skills.

About You

You’ll be a qualified solicitor with a good grounding in litigation within private practice, and a genuine enthusiasm for delivering outstanding client service.

You’ll also bring:

• Strong technical ability and sound litigation experience (likely to be 3+ PQE).
• Confidence managing your own matters with appropriate supervision as needed.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for working as part of a successful team.
