Court of Protection Solicitor (ref:907)

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Court of Protection Solicitor to join a supportive, well‑established Private Client team in Devon. If you’re driven by meaningful work and the chance to make a genuine difference to vulnerable clients, this role offers exactly that.

Our client is a well-established and respected regional law firm. The successful candidate will be able to work independently, handling a rewarding and varied court of protection caseload focused on supporting vulnerable clients and their families.

Your duties will include:

• Managing a varied caseload of Court of Protection, Property & Financial Affairs matters.
• Preparing and progressing Deputyship applications and other Court of Protection applications.
• Supporting Professional Deputies with the day-to-day management of clients’ financial affairs.
• Advising vulnerable clients, their families, attorneys and deputies with empathy and clear, practical guidance.
• Preparing annual Deputy reports and managing Court of Protection administration.
• Working closely with healthcare professionals, care providers, financial advisers and other specialists to support clients’ needs.
• Assisting with property transactions, care funding, benefits and wider financial matters on behalf of clients.
• Safeguarding vulnerable clients and liaising with relevant agencies where appropriate.
• Keeping up to date with Court of Protection legislation, case law and best practice.

This opportunity would suit a qualified solicitor with around 3+ PQE with solid Court of Protection experience, excellent technical skills, and a calm, compassionate approach. Confidence managing sensitive matters and delivering high‑quality advice is essential.
