An established and highly regarded family law firm is looking to recruit an experienced Child Care Lawyer to join its busy Taunton office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor or legal executive with experience of publicly funded child care work who is passionate about representing children, parents and other family members through complex and sensitive proceedings.
The successful candidate will work on a broad range of public law children matters, including care proceedings, emergency applications and associated family work. Membership of the Law Society Children’s Panel is highly desirable, although applications from experienced lawyers working towards accreditation will also be considered.
The Role
You will:
- Manage your own caseload of public law children matters.
- Represent clients throughout care proceedings and related hearings.
- Work closely with guardians, social workers, local authorities and other professionals.
- Build trusted relationships with vulnerable clients, providing clear and compassionate advice.
- Play an active role within a collaborative and supportive specialist family team.
About You
You’ll ideally have:
- Experience advising and representing clients in public law children matters.
- Children’s Panel accreditation, or the ambition and experience to obtain it.
- Excellent advocacy and client care skills.
- A calm, empathetic and pragmatic approach.
- The ability to manage a busy caseload with minimal supervision.
