About the Firm
My client is a respected and established, full-service law firm with a strong regional presence and a reputation for delivering high-quality legal services to both individuals and businesses. The firm prides itself on its collaborative culture, strong client relationships, and commitment to professional development and excellence.
About the Role
The firm is seeking an experienced Solicitor or Associate to join its growing Insolvency & Dispute Resolution team. This is a key role within the department, offering the opportunity to work on a broad range of complex matters including insolvency, debt recovery, commercial disputes, and general civil litigation.
You will take ownership of a varied caseload, advising clients on the merits and strategy of claims, drafting pleadings, and representing clients at court hearings, mediations, and settlement discussions. You will be expected to manage matters proactively and efficiently, delivering high-quality outcomes and excellent client service.
The role also includes a strong emphasis on business development. You will be encouraged to build and maintain your own network, contribute to marketing initiatives, and play an active role in developing the team’s client base.
If you are already experienced in supporting the development of less experienced colleagues, you will be perfectly positioned to assist the leadership team, mentor junior lawyers, and contribute to the strategic growth and direction of the department. Career development prospects are excellent, as this firm actively encourages progression.
About You
You will be a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with experience in handling dispute resolution matters. You might have previously focussed on one specific area of litigation, such as insolvency, general commercial, civil, property or wills & inheritance disputes. This role presents the opportunity to specialise or broaden your practice over time as the team grows, depending on your preference, with access to varied and interesting local, regional and national cases.
You’ll be able to demonstrate:
- The ability to manage a caseload independently, or with relative independence, with assistance on more complex matters.
- Excellent technical expertise across litigation.
- Some exposure to insolvency work is preferred but not required.
- Confidence whilst working with client-facing experience (which may include experience of attending hearings and ADR)
- Sound commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to resolving disputes
- Proven ability or clear interest in business development and networking
- Experience (or interest) in supervising or mentoring junior team members
- A positive and proactive approach, able to develop lasting client relationships whilst actively contributing to the continued success of the team.
