A well-established and highly regarded Devon law firm is looking to appoint a Family Lawyer to join its established family team in South Devon.
The firm has a strong presence across Devon and provides a broad range of legal services to both individuals and businesses. Its Family team has particular expertise across private family matters and is known for providing clear, practical and client-focused advice.
About the role
This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified or junior Family Lawyer looking to develop their career within an experienced and supportive team.
You will work across a varied caseload of private family matters, with a particular focus on children and child arrangements work. The role will provide the opportunity to build on your existing experience while developing your technical knowledge, client relationships and confidence as a family lawyer.
Your work is likely to include matters relating to:
- Child arrangements and private children matters
- Divorce and separation
- Financial matters arising from relationship breakdown
- Cohabitation and associated agreements
- Other aspects of private family law
You will have access to experienced colleagues and the opportunity to develop your skills within a well-established family practice.
About you
You’ll be a Solicitor or Legal Executive with between NQ and 2 years’ PQE and some experience of working within family law.
You will ideally have:
- Experience of private family work, particularly children matters
- Strong client-care and communication skills
- A genuine interest in developing a career in family law
- The ability to manage your workload effectively and work to deadlines
- A thoughtful and professional approach to dealing with clients
- Good attention to detail and sound organisational skills
- The confidence to work as part of a collaborative team while developing your own caseload
