An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Client Lawyer to join one of Devon’s leading legal practices in a senior appointment with genuine scope to influence the future direction of the department.

The firm is looking for the right individual with exceptional technical expertise and is open minded as to level and title. We are keen to speak with experienced Associates, Senior Associates, Legal Directors and established Partners who are ready to play a significant role in the continued growth of a highly regarded Private Client team.

This is an opportunity to combine outstanding client work with leadership, mentoring and business development within a collaborative, ambitious and people-focused firm.

The Opportunity

You’ll join an established Private Client team with an excellent reputation for advising individuals, families and business owners across a broad range of private wealth matters.

Alongside managing a high-quality and often complex caseload, you’ll have the opportunity to influence the future development of the team, support and mentor colleagues, strengthen relationships with professional referrers and contribute to the firm’s continued success.

The work includes:

• Wills and succession planning
• Estate administration
• Trusts
• Lasting Powers of Attorney
• Inheritance Tax planning
• Lifetime planning for individuals and families
• Working closely with accountants, financial advisers and other professional contacts

This is a leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, developing people and helping shape a successful department.

About You

We’re keen to hear from experienced Private Client Solicitors, Chartered Legal Executives or Partners who are looking for a role offering genuine influence and long-term career progression.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Significant Private Client experience.
• Excellent technical knowledge across a broad range of Private Client matters.
• Strong client relationship and communication skills.
• Experience mentoring or developing junior colleagues.
• A commercial outlook with an interest in business development.
• A collaborative and supportive leadership style.

STEP qualification or progress towards STEP would be welcomed but is not essential.

An existing client following would also be advantageous but is by no means a prerequisite.
